Sunday Funday

Well I haven't been so great with taking pictures but I am going to post anyway. I don't think I have a lot of followers so I think the main thing here is me being able to remember someday what I am going through. Saturday night I went to a wedding for my old co-workers daughter. Up until the day of the wedding I wasn't too worried about what I was going to wear just I figured I have just gained about 5 pounds so most dresses should fit me OK still. Well apparently I am getting bigger than I realized. The 1st dress I put on made me look like a giant because it already makes my butt look big and now I have a big belly too. so that was out. The dress I ended up with didn't show too bad until after dinner when I was pleasantly reminded that yes indeed I am starting to show already at 12 weeks. Now mom says it's because it's a girl but other people say it's also because it's my 2nd and you just show earlier with your 2nd. Granted a lot of those people had boys first and girls second but since I have no idea what we're having yet I will just let people continue to guess. So for pregnancy I am 12 weeks I have gained somewhere between 5-7 pounds depending on the day and I am hoping to keep it there for a little while. I have to make my 16 week apt the end of June and it will be 6 weeks since my last apt and I am really hoping to be up just another 3 pounds. However while typing I am dreaming of my skinny cow ice cream treat :-)
As for Janie, she is for sure enjoying playing in her new little pool. The only problem is that every time we have played out there, it wasn't planned and she ended up playing in her clothes. I didn't want to ruin the moment and run inside to change her so I just removed her shirt and let her swim and play in her shorts. She is still terrible at going in a stroller. I am trying to get some exercise every day, so today we attempted a walk. We got all the way to Grandma's house (about .7 miles away) when Jane decided to get out of the stroller and walk. We then made it to the end of the street...maybe an additional .2 miles and she tripped and fell and scraped her leg. So I finally got her to turn around and head home but by this point she was refusing to go in the stroller so either I was carrying her or she was walking. She tripped twice so basically just wanted me to hold her. Now picture a pregnant lady, pushing a stroller and carrying a 20 month old. needless to say my arms we're getting tired and I just wanted to get home...easily .5 miles to go before we would get there, not that long but seems long when you're carrying all that extra weight. Thankfully my great mother in law came by in the car because she thought she heard Jane crying and offered us a ride home, I took it and that was the end of the walk. I really wish she liked her stroller, I even have a fancy expensive jogging stroller and she still just doesn't like it. It really stinks because I would love to walk more and get more exercise and it's just not an option. I guess that's what they say when they say Life changes when you have kids!

Good morning! Happy Memorial Day to all who have served and are currently serving! Last night we went to a party at Jess and Luke's to celebrate Fred who graduated from Eau Claire, Tom who graduated from pipefitters school, Paul who turns 21 this week and Peter who turns 3 today. It was a lot of fun and I think Jane really likes to go because there are so many kids to play with. On my side she just has Alyssa who is about 11 years older than her so it's nice to have so many kids on the Fohrenkamm side for her to play with. We had a lot of food, beer (soda for those who can't drink) and cake and ice cream. Now the cake and ice cream probably should have been avoided if I am trying to gain only 30 pounds but what can I say I am pregnant and like sweets.

So I have a story to share about Jane and the funny things she likes to play with. SHe has this little chair, the kind you put in the bathtub when they are big enough to sit up but not big enough to be unassisted. I think we used it when she was like 6 months maybe. Well she saw it in the basement and wanted to play with it, so we brought it upstairs and she loves to climb in and play. The only problem is she is clearly too big for it and gets stuck. I think she is finally learning how to get out but usually she just whines once she gets stuck and needs help getting out. Then as soon as she gets out, she climbs right back in. It's super annoying for a mom because she is mad if I don't let her play, but then gets mad because she can't get out on her own. Makes for a great photo though :-)

We're back

So, the last time I blogged was right after Jane's 1st Birthday. Well she is now 20 months so it has been a while but i just can't seem to get in the habit of writing a blog. But now I am pregnant with another and I find myself trying to remember how I felt at this point in the pregnancy with Jane and wishing I would have blogged more details and that would help me remember. So even though I plan to only have two kids anyway I am going to try harder this time. Anyway I am about 11 weeks pregnant with the 2nd, no idea what we're having some days I think boy and some girl. I will for sure be finding out at the 20 week ultrasound but if you know me at all you know I am impatient and don't like to have to wait so long. I am at the point in the pregnancy where I am still tired ( who wouldn't be though when you're pregnancy and have a toddler) but thank God I am past the nauseous stage. I don't look pregnant yet but I have def gained weight so I just look fat and I hate this part. Some close friends are trying to remind me that I freaked out about the weight gain in the beginning with Jane but I just don't remember and I also know I gained a lot in the beginning and then slowed down but can't remember how much I gained when. So this time I have gained about 5 pounds maybe 6 by week 11. I think that is kind of a lot when I have a goal to gain only 30 throughout but again hopefully the gain will slow down soon. I felt pretty nauseous for the first few weeks and that has pretty much over now just tired. I know when I need to just go to bed because EVERYTHING starts to bother me and I start to feel a little ill, so all those feelings is my indication that it's just bed time.

Jane is getting huge these days. She has definitely changed from a baby to a big girl. We got her a potty to play with and I am hoping that will make the potty training easier? She is still in a crib but have decided for B-day #2 we will transition her to a big girl bed. This way we won't have to buy another crib and I think 2 is big enough to get out of a crib. She is really trying to talk quite a bit and the cutest thing she started saying "morning" I go and get her in the morning and I always say Good morning and all of a sudden the other morning I walk in there and she looks at me and says "mornin" it's a lot of fun to watch her learn how to do new things and how to say new things and I am thinking at this point words will start coming quickly for her. Hopefully I will remember to keep posting and can look back on the blog someday and at least remember some things regarding Jane.

Back at it

I know I have said this before but I am going to try again to be better at this blogging thing. I do find it's hard to have time to write everyday with work and a very busy 1 year old, but as I become a little less involved in facebook maybe I will have more time to write here. Might be nice someday to look back and remember what's going on in our crazy world. So...Jane is now 1..13 months tomorrow actually and still afraid to walk.

Which is fine by me because I am guessing she will be in to more and more things as she learns to walk. I know she will get there soon because she walks holding your hand or her stroller but just doesn't like to do it on her own yet. She is totally done with nursing and has been for a couple of weeks. I started weaning when she turned 12 months and quit completely when I had to have my wisdom teeth taken out. She is still getting a bottle at night before bed of regular milk and I am not quite sure when I will take that away. Probably sooner rather than later but I am not quite ready to take that away yet. She is still a little bald on top but the hair is growing in nice and curly in the back. Maybe it will change as she grows up but from what I can see for now she will be a little curly q!

This past weekend we went to Rachel's cabin and her house and while it's always fun to go on a little road trip and visit the family Jane never has been and still isn't a fan of riding in the car or sleeping away from home. Friday night she was up and wanting to play from about 11 until 3 and then up again at 6:30 which made for a very tired mom on Saturday. Then Saturday we went to the cabin so Jane took a quick little 1 hour nap and that was it for the day, slept much better Saturday night thank god, but then still woke up on Sunday night at about 12 and wanted to be rocked back to sleep. I hate to complain because I am sure someday I will miss her wanting me to rock and cuddle her but when you're already exhausted from the weekend it sure is hard to get up just after going to bed on Sunday. Hopefully I will keep this going and remember to update every couple days with updates and pictures!

We have had a lot of things happen around here in the last week. Jane finally started rolling over from her belly to her back. Apparently she really enjoys it because she does it all the time. The only problem is that she is a belly sleeper and will roll onto her back and then needs us to come and roll her back over so she can go back to sleep. Also on Monday (7th) she got her first tooth to poke through. Let the fun begin I can only imagine how much fun it will be as the rest of them start coming through. She is also starting to laugh out loud more. Of course it's easier for Joe to get her to smile but I can once and a while. Joe was bouncing a pillow off his head and apparently that was really funny to her.

Well I finally got Jane to start trying to eat some food. So far we have only tried regular old cereal and then some apple sauce. I think I am going to take a look at my cookbook tonight and start making some veggies so that she can learn to like those as well. I will have to get a pic one of these days of her messy food face but with Joe working late every night I am pretty much a single mom and I forget to take all the pics. Maybe tonight. I am enjoying working part time, it's an excuse to get out of the house and talk with adults. But I get so overwhelmed and tired by Wednesday that I just don't think about doing much other than what HAS to be done. Fridays are much more relaxing for me because I have a chance to relax, unwind, catch up on some housework and also play with Jane. I am sure the older she gets the easier it gets but some days are just a little tough so thank GOD that I am able to only work part time, I give props to those moms who can work full time, have a kid in daycare and not lose it by the end of the week! Tonight I am going to try one of the new rubs I got from a Pampered Chef party. I totally forgot I even had them in there and was trying to think of something new and exciting I could do for dinner. So I am going to thaw out some chicken and try a rub! I will let you know how it tastes.
Also looking forward to tomorrow, we're going to go up to Hinkley for mom's 55th Birthday. I am sure mom and grandma will spend a decent amount of time at the casino but I am going to try and take Jane swimming. Hopefully she enjoys it. I am not sure if the swimsuit with a built in diaper will be good enough or I should get some swim diapers? Maybe I will post as a question on facebook and see if others have an opinion? I will have some pics for next time!

Having a nice girl day today. Joe decided to go ice fishing for a little while so Jane and I are watching some TV and playing and cuddling. I think her ear is still bothering her a little so it's nice to just hang around. I had bowling last night and it didn't go so well. I knew my tailbone was still bothering me a little but had no idea that bowling would bother me. I got up there to throw the 1st ball and about died. My face turned red, I started sweating and I wanted to cry. So thank God Al's wife had come along to hang out and she was able to bowl for me. I threw 4 balls total I think and it hurt SOOOO bad. I hope this gets better soon. That's about all that's going on with us for now, back to work for the week tomorrow and Joe still has to work his dumb overtime so doesn't look like I will make it to Zumba once again. Which might just be ok cause I am wondering if the bouncing would irritate the tailbone once again?

Friday, February 25, 2011

Well this was a strange week but thankfully Jane is feeling better and we're finally to Friday! Jane is 5 months old today so naturally I took her picture which I think turned out really good. She is such a baldy so I like to put the flower headbands on her which she will probably hate when she gets older :-) The headband kind of pushed her ears out, but she smiled so I am happy!

She also seems to be going through the everything in the mouth phase, and when I say everything that includes my face. It's hilarious and I don't know if she is trying to give me a kiss or just wants to see what my face is like? But when I hold her she actually kind of hugs back. Then she takes my face with her hands and tried to kiss/suck on whatever she can get her mouth on. Sometimes it's the cheek and sometimes the chin. I can't help but laugh and thank her for the kisses and hope she doesn't grow up to be a weirdo!

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Well today was my 1st day back to work this week. Jane actually did pretty good at daycare aside from no desire to eat, even when I went to feed her. Someone at work did say with ear infections that sometimes it takes 36 hours before they really start to help. I am going to work tomorrow just to get some extra hours in so at least I am working 2 days this week instead of only one. I am pretty tired but I think I can drag myself through one more day.
I got home and realized we really have no dinner type food in the house. All we have for meat is a little bit of chicken thighs and some venison. So I called the hubby and he is bringing home pizza. Not exactly what I wanted when I am trying to do weight watchers. Of course I had some snacks at work today too so I can have about 2 pieces before I hit my daily limit of points. The saddest part is that I get a lot of points because I am still nursing and thank GOD for that cause I don't know how I could stay at my limit otherwise. What I need is to go to the grocery store and load up on veggies and fruits cause I can have all I want of that and it's all FREE points. So basically I am in desperate need of a grocery shopping trip. Well time to get little Jane ready for bed!

Sick Kids

Well today is the 2nd day in a row that I have stayed home from work due to illnesses. I was not feeling well on Monday so I decided to not attempt the bad roads and stay home and get better. Throughout the day Jane got a little more and a little more sick herself. Which is what I was afraid of and why we left her home from the Fohrenkamm party on Friday. Well that didn't seem to do us any good cause even though I have kept her home and tried to keep her healthy she has her 1st ear infection. I can't help but think that it's convenient that 2 weeks ago she started daycare and now all of a sudden she has an ear infection. One of the issues I had with going back to work was Jane being in daycare and being sick all the time. I know it will just build her immune system but that doesn't make having a 5 month old sick baby any easier. So of course I am having doubts about if I should have gone back or not but I am not going to quit or anything, just feeling guilty that she is sick and also I feel guilty that I have been at my new job for two weeks and already I am calling in sick. Oh well right, I have a sick kid what can they expect. That's about all that's going on with us, a kid with an ear infection and parents with some other kind of bug, you can imagine the fun were having!

Snowstorms

Well we're catching up on a few days here now. Thursday was a busy day for Jane and I. We went out to DOR and visited all my old friends that I used to work with. It was really nice to see everyone and I really did miss all the people but I was certainly happy to be there only as a visitor and not as an employee. After a brief visit with everyone, Jane, Michelle, Toni and I went to get some lunch at Keys. Jane did really well part of the time sitting in her bumbo seat and me holding her part of the time. Of course we couldn't have it that easy though so as were getting ready to leave I decide to change Jane before the long drive home and she of course had crapped up the back of her shirt. So had to change everything right there in the public bathroom. It was great to see everyone and visit and I even got a goodbye card with some very nice words and a $35 gift certificate to Target.
Friday, Rachel came down and Joe had the day off. I started the day by going to body pump and getting a nice little workout in. Then we just hung around the house and I cleaned while Joe and Jane did some playing. Rachel and Alyssa got here around 5 and Joe and I headed over to his mom and dads for Paul's going away/Sarah's birthday party. We had a good time drinking a couple beers and eating homemade pizza. We also spent some time looking through old family pictures and after seeing little Joey when he was a baby I am even more certain that Jane looks EXACTLY like him. The rest of the pics were so cute, I am pretty sure Joe might have been one of the cutest little boys I have ever seen so if Joe does look like him (aside from she will be more girly) I have decided that she will be pretty dang cute! We came home around 10 after getting a call from Rachel that my child was still awake. She NEVER sleeps that badly so of course we came home to put her to bed. As we were getting home of course I was rushing and slipped on the damn ice and hurt my tailbone and elbow pretty bad. Man I hate winter and snow and ice.
Saturday Joe was working so the ladies decided to hang out. After getting ourselves ready Rachel, Alyssa, Jane and I went over to moms and headed to Longfellow grill for some lunch. Jane was a pretty sleepy girl but did pretty good. After lunch Alyssa stayed with Grandma and Rachel and I came home. We played with Jane and hung around for a little while. Joe got home around 7:30 from work and Rachel and I headed to Mama Maria's for dinner with her friends. It was a good time but a little  late for dinner for me so I was close to ready for bed when we got home. I know I am a little lame but maybe once Jane is sleeping through the night I will have a life again?
That brings me to Sunday. I wake up at about 5:30am to my hubby running to the bathroom. Now he is not one to get sick very easily so at first I didn't think anything of it. After the 3rd trip to the bathroom I started wondering what the heck is wrong. Sure enough he has been in bed or in the bathroom all day throwing up and feeling terrible. So looks like the flu might have hit our house. I knew it would happen eventually because within the last 2 weeks the Fohrenkamm's have all been pretty sick. Jane has been a little fussy today, but she is now napping, Joe ate a little soup and I am watching a little TV. Oh yeah and I signed up for Weight Watchers today. I know I don't have a ton to lose and also I am breast feeding but I really want to make sure I lose the weight before summer so I can fit into my summer clothes. It is amazing how many points some of the things are and you don't even think twice about it. So hopefully this will help me to learn to eat a little better and after the 3 month maybe I will cancel and be able to manage things a little better on my own. Now Rachel, mom and myself are all on the plan so hopefully with some support it will help! I really should write more often so these aren't all so long.

Jane Rolled Over

Well I am not doing great at writing everyday but I have found that working and having a baby takes up pretty much all of my spare time. By the time we get home from work/daycare, we play for an hour or so and then it's bedtime for Jane. As soon as she is down to bed then I get started on dinner, we eat, I do the dishes and make lunches and get Jane and my own things ready for the next day. Then I maybe relax for a little while with Joe and we go to bed. So I will write when I can but I have given up on the everyday. Yesterday I went to pick Jane up from daycare and they tell me she has been so good and drank both of her 4oz bottles. That is great news, and then just as Tracy was about to tell me she hadn't had a BM all day, she looks at me, smiles and fills her pants. So of course she waited until I got there so I could change her. Well she got poop on her shirt so naturally I had to change her diaper and all her clothes. In addition to no BM all day she also didn't sleep very much. So she was screaming bloody murder the whole time I changed her cause she just wanted to sleep. Finally we got home and she played for a little while and off to bed. She woke up about 2:15am and I fed her and changed her and back to bed on her belly. Well I heard her crying right before the alarm went off at 6:10 and I go into her room to see she is laying on her back. Which means she rolled over in her crib for the 1st time while we were asleep. New goal is to try and get her to roll over so I can see it but at least I know it happened!
Tomorrow we are going to visit the old workplace and have lunch with Michelle so I will try to write more about that tomorrow!

Back to the Grind

Well I didn't do so well at my new goal to write everyday. But now I will just catch up on things. Since the last time I wrote Saturday I went to a Pure Romance party at Kara's house and as much as I didn't want to go I actually had a lot of fun. I get into a rut when it's so cold and I just never feel like going anywhere or doing anything. But I went and am really glad that I did. It was nice to have some girl time and hang out for a while. I was out way later than I planned to be and was pretty tired Sunday. Then Sunday the Superbowl!!! Packers won and Johnny owed me lunch cause he bet on the Steelers. I got Jane a little bib that she wore to cheer on the packers. I am a bad fan cause when the Vikings are good I cheer for them and when Packers are good I cheer for them. I have always liked the Packers a little more but feel like I should be rooting the Vikings, so whatever I don't care that much about football! Monday was my 1st day of work. I am so happy to not be going back to my job at the state. Mom is going to watch Jane on Mondays so I dropped her off in the morning and Johnny and I rode together for my 1st day. It wasn't too bad and I even went home to nurse Jane on my lunch break.  I actually enjoyed my day and really like Mary and Rich so I think this working might be OK. We will just see how things continue to go. I feel like come Summer I am going to wish I wasn't working but at least it's only part time. Money just gets a little tight when Joe is laid off. Tuesday was day 2 of work and Jane's 1st day of daycare. They said she wasn't too fussy and was actually doing pretty good especially for her 1st day aside from the fact that she wouldn't eat. Total she only ate 2 ounces from the bottle. Good thing I could go feed her at 12. Wednesday then was like my friday, again she drank only 1/2 ounce in the morning and I fed her on lunch. Then by the time I picked her up they were able to feed her another 4.75 ounces. So good job Jane maybe she is starting to adjust to this daycare. Hopefully she doesn't relapse every week since she only goes two days a week. Now today the 10th, were home and Jane is currently napping. I woke up this morning and thought man it's cold in here. Looked at the thermostat and sure enough it wasn't really working and it was 62 degrees in here. Yikes, after a call to Joe and some time I decided to go to the gym. Well then Joe called and asked if I would go back home and call someone to get this fixed. So I turned around and came home. When I got here, things seemed to be working again so now Jane is napping and this place is warming up. I am going to try and go to the Zumba class tonight at 5 since Joe won't be home until 7 anyway. Only problem is Jane gets a little fussy at night since her bedtime is 6:30 (or sooner lately) but I will give it a shot cause I really need to lose weight before Jessica's wedding this summer and I have been stuck at this current weight for far too long. Well for now that's about it, I will try to remember to write again tomorrow.

On a Roll

Well this is the 2nd day in a row and I almost forgot to write, so we'll see how this goes. We didn't do too much today. Jane and I went to visit Amy and Isabella for a couple hours and then just played around at home. It was good to see them and I am excited to see Amy's new baby in two weeks from today. Jane was pretty good the whole time playing with some toys and sucking on my arm. Not sure what is going on with her lately but every time I hold her she wants to suck on my shoulder or arm. It's kind of funny but I hope it's not cause she is starving or something? I feed her plenty and she is growing like a weed so I think she's doing OK. Joe and I got an external hard drive to try and put some movies on so we don't have to save them all on my laptop. However we cannot figure out how to get the movie to play when we plug it into the TV or the Xbox, we can still only figure out how to play things on the laptop. So hopefully we can get this figured out, otherwise I guess we'll just have to play them on the laptop but at least we have some more room! Well that's about it for today, pretty uneventful day!

Trying again

Ok, so I am not a very good blogger. But a friend made a good point in why she blogs and it's so that she doesn't forget anything cause these times go so fast. So I am making a new goal and am really going to try and write in my blog daily or maybe every other day but certainly more than I have been.
Jane is already 4 months old. I can't believe how fast the time has been going. She went from this tiny little peanut who couldn't do anything for herself to a big girl that plays all by herself. We started trying to give her a little taste of baby rice cereal and so far she is NOT interested. I can't even get her to open her mouth and try to eat so it's not going so well. Dr said it will take some time so I am not too worried yet but I will keep trying. I borrowed a book from Ashley that shows you how to make your own baby food. I am kind of excited to try some of those things out. Most of the recipes say babies are ready at 6 months for this stuff, so I still have plenty of time to teach Jane how to eat before we break out the real food!
Next week I go back to work. For those of you who know me I am thanking GOD that I am not going back to my old job at the State. I have a new part time job at Hanzlik Financial in 1st State Bank. I am looking forward to a new experience but a little worried about being away from Jane for almost 9 hours, 3 days in a row. Fortunately mom has Monday's off and will be watching her on Mondays, so only two days of daycare. Even better the daycare is 1 mile from the bank so I can go and feed her on my lunch break! We will see how it goes. She sure does love her mama so I am a little nervous how she does. I have done a good job of getting her nice and spoiled cause how can you not want to hold your little baby all the time?
One funny story and then I will call it a day. Yesterday I went to the grocery store and Target while Jane stayed home with dad. Once I got home Joe was holding Jane and watching out the window. Every time I got close to the house Jane got excited and smiled, when I went back out to the car for more groceries she got fussy. Finally I came in and went to the bathroom. Jane started crying cause she could no longer see me, the second I walked out of the bathroom and she saw me, she immediately stopped crying, jumped a little and a big smile on her face! I am glad my little girl loves her mama!

Updates

I have decided that I am not a very good blogger since I don't seem to ever have new posts. Not that I don't have a lot to say but Jane likes to be held at pretty much all times so I don't get many opportunities to sit and write. Currently she is sitting in her swing but not sure how long this will last before she starts fussing cause I am not holding her. Anyway this past weekend was a busy one. Friday Rachel and Alyssa came down to visit for the weekend so they babysat Jane while Joe and I went on a date. We went to dinner and to a movie, it was very nice to do something just the two of us but of course I missed Janie while we were out. Saturday we had a baby shower with the Whall side of the family so off to Jess and Luke's house. It was a lot of fun and everyone got to hold Jane a little bit. The only down side was Jane didn't take much of a nap so she was pretty overtired and fussy Saturday night. Not that I had to deal with it since she was home with her dad and cousin but made me feel bad for her daddy. Joe met me at Jess and Luke's to pick Jane up and I headed to Rochester with mom, Rachel, and Laurie for the Jeremy Camp concert. I could watch him play every day and it would never get old. Joe said he got Jane to bed around 11 or 11:30. I didn't pump then on the way home thinking that she would want to eat when I got home since it was about 1:30. Well I was wrong cause she slept until almost 4am. I guess that's what happens when they finally get to sleep after having almost no naps during the day. Sunday then no plans, so we got up and Rachel and Alyssa were over until around 12. Then mom and grandma Bev came over to see the baby. They were disappointed that she was sleeping but of course it didn't take long until she woke up. Then Johnny came over, so overall a very busy weekend with lots of visiting! This week has been pretty low key, Monday we went to Target and the grocery store and we did NOTHING yesterday aside from we went on a walk. I am trying to walk and get some exercise but my weight loss is still stuck. I am down about 23 which is good, but I have been stuck there for about 2 weeks now. I still need to lose about 18 more pounds to get to my goal weight. Dr appointment is the 1st week in November and then I will either be back at Victory for the fat blast classes or I will be at the YMCA and hopefully some more intense working out will help shed those extra pounds. This weekend we have a Halloween party to go to and Jane is going to be a little flower. I will make sure to take and post some pics of the flower costume! That's all we have planned so I will try and write next week to report how that went.

Not a fan of Photos

Well yesterday we had Kelly come out to take some infant photos of baby Jane. I made sure to wake her up, feed her, change her diaper and everything before Kelly got there to make sure Jane would be in a good mood to get her picture taken. You see so many infant photos and they are so adorable so really hoping here. She made it through a couple of shots and then baby Jane started in with her very loud crying. Like her uncle Matt said it sounds like you're skinning a cat when she cries. I held her and got her back to sleep but as soon as I set her back down and we tried a few more poses the crying began again. We finally got to a point where no amount of soothing was calming her down, we threw in a couple quick family shots and called it a day. I haven't seen any of the pics yet but hoping that at least some of them will turn out. She is so cute so I would imagine at least some of them worked. After Kelly left Jane fell asleep again and was pretty much down for the night. She woke up to eat about every two hours though which is not usual for her. Usually she had been sleeping at least 3-4 hours and even had one 5 hour span. This morning still a little fussy and not quite sure what her problem was. So we went to visit Uncle Johnny at the bank. Well that was a disaster cause she fell asleep on the way there but then once we got there and she woke up it was cry city all over again. I gave her a bottle which calmed her down for a minute but she didn't drink much so the calm didn't last long. Finally we said farewell and came home. Once home I attempted again at a bottle and she actually drank almost the whole thing. I am very great full that she seems to be good at nursing and also taking a bottle. Grandma Marich is coming over tomorrow to babysit so I am hoping she takes a bottle good for her too. After the bottle I laid down with her and we cuddled and took a little nap. She is so cute and I loved laying down with her. I wish it wasn't a bad habit and dangerous to let your babies sleep with you cause I would love to cuddle all the time with her. I wanted to attempt a walk again today but she is still sleeping and then Grandma Fohrenkamm along with Mary and Susan are coming over in a little while to visit so unless they want to go I might not make it today either. Am I trying to do too much and expecting too much cooperation from a 2 week old. Maybe I should just be keeping her home in the house until she is a little older? I don't know, I'm new at this.

Home with Baby Jane

It is not the easiest task in the world to write on a blog when you're home with an infant. so this is my first since baby Jane arrived. I can't believe it has been almost three weeks already that I have been off work and almost 2 weeks since she was born. She is pretty much the cutest baby I have ever seen ( I am sure all moms say that about their babies). We attempted a bath last week and she pooped instantly and cried the whole time, so I would say unsuccessful. Since then I gave her a couple sponge baths, then today tried a bath in her little tub again but this time she liked it so I am happy she is learning to like the bath. She HATES when I change her diaper or her clothes so I really hope she learns to like those things a little better eventually. Other than that I can't complain about much. She is a good baby and sleeps usually 3-4 hours at a time at night. Every night is a little different but for the most part she sleeps well for an infant I think. Today we're getting her newborn pictures taken and I really am hoping they turn out great. She tends to get a little fussy in the evening which is when we're taking the pics so I hope she will be in a good mood today so we can get some cute ones.
I tried taking her for a walk in her stroller yesterday and I am not sure what was bothering her but she wasn't a fan. She was asleep when I left but thanks to the gravel road she woke up right away, once we got to the blacktop is when she started crying, could have been the bumps, the sun or the wind that she didn't like. I tried to hide her from the wind and sun as best as possible but it wasn't an easy task. So we walked about 2 blocks before turning around and walking home. I want to try again but wished I had an infant carrier and I could walk like that cause she always is a fan of being held. I've managed to drop about 23 pounds but gained 38 with the whole pregnancy so I have quite a ways to go before I am back to myself..which is why I want to walk so bad. Overall things are going well and Joe and I are loving being parents!

Well here we are now three days overdue. I have been getting much more painful contractions the last two days so hopefully that is a sign. Last night they were pretty painful but only about 20 minutes apart so nothing major. When I went to sleep they weren't so bad that they woke me up so not sure how often they came throughout the night but I did wake up every two hours with a pain and the need to go to the bathroom. Today the pains have been kind of all over the place with frequency. This morning there wasn't much of anything, then about 10:30 I got a pain on my right side and then the regular pains started coming. I went to meet Michelle and her mom for lunch and got a spicy buffalo wrap and while at lunch and on my way home I was having pains about every 8 minutes. However now I am home and still getting pains but they are about 10-15 minutes apart at least. They say not to even bother with going to the hospital until you are having contractions that are 5 minutes apart for at least an hour. So I think we still have plenty of time before I will be going to the hospital. Maybe this weekend she will make her grand entrance?

Home Remedies don't work

I am now officially two days overdue. So yesterday my mother convinced me to try taking Castor Oil to see if that would work. Not sure why I agreed but I did and took about 2 ounces of the nasty stuff. Well it was the worst idea I have ever had. I was fighting not to throw up while trying to drink, it was one of the most disgusting things ever. About 1 hour after taking it I started to feel sick. I was sweating so bad my hair was wet and I was certain I was going to throw up. Finally the feeling passed and then the stomach ache started. I was completely miserable. Finally the feelings passed and I was feeling OK. I did start having some contractions but it was obviously not enough to cause me to go into labor and so not worth it. So here I am not two days overdue and everything is just fine. I have no contractions and I feel OK. A little dehydrated after yesterday but otherwise feel just fine, I am starting to worry now that I will have to be induced next week cause she just isn't coming.
